Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about joining, credits, the AI tutor, leagues, and your data.

What is Elimufy?

Elimufy turns your own material — notes, a photo of a page, or a topic — into verified, interactive practice, a step-by-step AI tutor, and prize-driven leagues. You learn what you bring, and prove you know it. It is built in Kenya and aligned to local exams.

How do I join Elimufy?

Create a free account with your email (a 6-digit code, or a password), then paste or photograph some material and start practising. You can also try it without an account using the sample sets at /learn.

Is Elimufy free?

Yes to start: everyone gets a free daily practice allowance plus starter credits. Some features — creating extra sets, the study-assistant chat, handwriting recognition, and the AI Tutor — use credits beyond the free allowance. Practising a set you already made is free.

How do credits work?

Credits are a simple prepaid balance where 1 Kenyan Shilling is about 1 credit. Each paid action costs a set number of credits, shown before you use it. Credits never expire, and you can see your balance and exactly where they went on your Credits & Usage screen.

How do I pay or top up?

Top up with M-Pesa on the web — send the amount you want (for example 1,000 KES = 1,000 credits) to our Paybill and we add the credits to your account. Payments happen on the web, never inside the app.

What is the AI Tutor?

The AI Tutor teaches a topic from your own material step by step, checks your understanding, then re-teaches your weak spots a different way and checks again — looping until you have mastered it. Your first course is free.

How do Leagues and prizes work?

Leagues are optional competitions organised by subject and level. Join with a handle and your school, play ranked sets, and climb the weekly and monthly boards. No purchase is needed to compete, and winners are verified before any prize is awarded.

Is my data and my child's data safe on Elimufy?

We take it seriously, especially for students. We explain what we collect and how it is used, including AI processing, in our Privacy Policy, and handle data under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. You can delete your account and data at any time.

Can teachers use Elimufy?

Yes. Teachers work on the web: create a class, share a join code, assign practice from your own material, and see per-student analytics. The mobile app is for students.
