How to Access Claude Outside the US and UK
What is Claude 2?
- Claude is an AI assistant created by Anthropic, an AI safety startup founded in 2021. It is designed to be helpful, harmless, and honest.
- Claude 2 is the latest version of Claude, launched in 2023. It features improved conversational abilities and knowledge.
- Claude is free to use during its limited beta testing period. After the beta testing, pricing plans will likely be introduced.
Claude's Availability
- Currently, Claude is only officially available in the US and UK. Access is limited to these regions during the beta testing period.
- However, it is possible to access Claude from other countries using a VPN or the Opera browser.
Accessing Claude from Outside the US and UK
Using a VPN
- A VPN (virtual private network) allows you to mask your real location and appear as if you are in a different country.
- To access Claude, sign up for a VPN service that has servers located in the US or UK. ExpressVPN and NordVPN are good options.
- Connect to a US or UK server on the VPN app on your device. This will make it appear like you are located in one of those countries.
- You can now access Claude by going to its website or downloading the app. Claude will think you are located in the US or UK based on your VPN connection.
Using the Opera Browser
- The Opera browser has a free built-in VPN service. Turn on the VPN feature in Opera's settings.
- Set the virtual location to the US or UK. This will route your web traffic through Opera's VPN servers in those countries.
- With the VPN enabled, you can access Claude on the Opera browser as it will appear you are browsing from the US or UK.
- The Opera VPN has some usage limits but is free and easy to use.
